Dr. Cheryl Burkhart-Kriesel has served as the Community and Economic Development Specialist since July 1, 2001. Previous work experience includes one year as a North Dakota State University Extension Agent At-Large, three years as a University of Nebraska Extension Educator in Morrill County and four years as the Panhandle Learning Center Coordinator. In addition, she has served as a University of Nebraska grant coordinator for statewide projects in small scale entrepreneurship and human capital development.
Educational degrees include a B.S. in Consumer Sciences from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1976, a M.S. in Applied Human Resources from Colorado State University in 1982, and a Ph.D. in Community and Human Resources from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1992. In addition to her formal training in the field, in 2002, she will complete the University of Missouri's three-part Community Development Academy training.
Dr. Burkhart-Kriesel's primary responsibilities are to provide support for:
Jenny Nixon is a .80 FTE Extension Educator in Sioux County. She plans and delivers Educational programs based around issues in agriculture and technology. The annual Critical Difference for Women in Agriculture and Master Navigator are examples. In addition, Jenny coordinates the Sioux County 4-H program. Jenny holds a BS in Animal Science and an MS in Range Management from the University of Nebraska.
