Programs and Service Area

PCS serves the seven counties of the southern panhandle of western Nebraska.  Some programs offer services in additional areas including the northern panhandle and extreme southwestern Nebraska.  PCS offers programs in five key areas:

 

Child Development: 

The mission of all child development programs is to support and strengthen individuals, families, and communities by providing opportunities for growth for families with young children.  Programs offered in child development include:

  • Early Head Start

  • Head Start

  • Migrant/Seasonal Head Start

  • Project Success

  • Western Nebraska Child Development Center

 

Family and Community Services: 

This program offers a broad range of services that emphasize individual strengths and encourage the development of self-sufficiency. The programs are family centered and eligible participation is based upon income.  Programs offered in Family and Community Services include:

  • Family Development

  • Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP

  • Community Ever Green House

  • Emergency Services

  • The Homeless Assistance Program

  • The Scotts Bluff County Tobacco Free Collaborative

  • Seasonal Farm workers

  • Senior Corps Programs:  Foster Grandparent and Senior Companion Programs

  • Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)

 

Health Services: 

Our affordable health care center is a nationally recognized industry leader in providing individualized and innovative proactive health care for every person who seeks it-regardless of income or status.  Services offered through our health services include:

  • The Primary Health Care Clinic

  • Dental Clinic

  • Clinical Training Site

·        Behavioral Health
  • Health Disparities Collaborative

  • Hepatitis C Testing and Counseling

  • HIV/AIDS Program

  • Immunization Services

  • The Migrant Health Program

  • The Minority Health Program

  • Reproductive Health Program

  • Ryan White Title III Program

  • Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)

 

Housing Services: 

The Housing Services Program is designed to develop healthier, safer housing through new affordable housing construction, plus major and minor rehabilitation and weatherization of area housing.   Programs offered through Housing Services include:

  • Affordable Housing Projects

  • Home Buyer Education

  • Housing Rehabilitation Programs

  • The Weatherization Assistance Program
